Looking for simple extension just to help you get Open Graph Metadata into your Joomla! site? iBualoy Open Graph is a light weight extension that just simply add OG Metadata into the header of the page. Minimize your risk of extension conflict of your other favorite Facebook Integration extensions.
Most of popular Facebook Integration extensions (including my favorite one) are more concentrate to add Javascript SDK to perform Facebook Social Plugins fewatures such as Facebook Connect, add Like Button, or show Like Box etc. Unfortunately, most of the case those nice extensions are lacking of precise Open Graph generating as I wish. From my experience, to utilize too many extensions to perform Facebook Integration is always the big mess of extension conflict and it doesn't work well. So I decide to build my own OpenGraph extension to use it by myself, and would like to share to the others who has the same problem.
Actually I wrote this extension since July 2011, but have no time to publish officially yet. Fortunately, there is no big change in Open Graph standard in the past several months. So, I beleive it would be working fine for a while. Since Joomla! 1.6 is already end of its life, and version 2.5 still not yet in production stage, so I will release only on Joomla! 1.5 for now, and for Joomla 2.5 will be available soon.
How it Works?
The iBualoy OpenGraph contains 2 plugins, one system plugin and one content plugin. The system plugin will add general Open Graph Metadata into every single page including non-content type menu such as fb:admin, og:type for Frontpage, image default. etc. The content plugin will automatically generate content-related Open Graph Metadata on content-type page such as og:title, og:url, og:image, etc.
