Good bye my home server

Farewell My Home Server

Finally my Dell SX 280 who served me very well for over 2 years has end his life. I have used it for learning Web Developing and VMware Virtualization. My latest implementation is Webserver of Hardy Heron on VMware ESXi 3.5 since middle of last year. It end up with amber light on power button with no power up.

Dell SX280 Power Button has amber blinking

One night I came home and found out that my Dell was not working. So I have checked and saw the amber blinking on power button. I have checked it for a while but no luck. I plugged off and plugged in again. when I push the power button, at the beginning it was become green for a while and seems to work, but within few minutes it become amber blinking again. I tried it few times until it no longer green anymore T.T.

I open the cover and found that the chassis fan is working quietly, but the motherboard just not power up, and many capacitors has damaged. I have search in the google, then the best way is to get rid of it and buy a new one. Luckily the damaged part is only motherboard. Most of the rest such as RAM and HDD is still in good condition (because I just upgraded it last year ^^)

This is the reason why my site was disconnect for almost a month. I have no time to recover it yet. Just today I moved this site to my production server in the internet.
